the flower of precedence.
My beloved rock (내 사랑하는 돌멩이):
The flower always thought of itself as being alone and unseen, blooming to and within its feelings of love without external witness, as it remained hidden behind the shadows of the rock and its dreams amongst the stars. Amidst its yearnings for a home that didn’t yet exist, the flower wandered relentlessly in search of its unconditional dream, accompanied only by herself and the little girl of heartful guidance, of whom her whispers guided the flower like that of a Northern Star, in direct voyage towards the location of the girl’s foundation of heartfelt rest.
However, disparate to her initial motivations of venture, the flower realized that instead of being hidden away by the rock towards the rest of civil society, she was in fact being protected by the rock, as she would have been undoubtedly washed away by the heavy rain had it not been for the warmful embrace and stability of the rock. Despite her initial assumptions concerning the source of her emotive loneliness, sadness, and pain, the rock was in fact the facilitator of her dreams, as it provided her with the adequate space, time, and energy to allow for her patient and unrushed initiation into her own love. This subsequently provided the flower with new intrinsic rigor and hope for life, unbeknownst even to herself. In retrospective observation, the rock allowed for the flower to understand the reciprocal (and unprecedented) nature of her love, as she learnt about her ability to receive as both the recipient and sender of her love — a condition made possible only given the honest and vulnerable opening of her heart (to the world, but most importantly, to herself).
